What is the function of mud gas separator?
HYQ series atmospheric drilling fluid mud gas separator is specially used for primary degassing of gas invasion drilling fluid, also known as gas-liquid separator or gas separator. It is mainly used to remove large bubbles with a diameter of ≥φ3mm in the gas-invasion drilling fluid. These bubbles fill a certain section of the wellbore annulus and are part of the expansive gas.
If these bubbles are not removed from the drilling fluid, the gas content in the drilling fluid will be too high, which may cause a kick, and even spray out of the surface of the drilling equipment, causing serious safety hazards.
