What is a filter press used for?

The filter press is a device used for liquid and solid separation, and its working principle is to separate the solid part in the slurry (liquid and solid mixture) by applying pressure, so as to realize the dehydration process.
Specifically, a filter press typically consists of a filter cloth or plate into which the slurry is pumped and forms a solid layer on the cloth or plate. Then, by applying pressure, usually by hydraulic or mechanical force, the liquid in the slurry is made to pass through the pores of the filter cloth or filter plate, thereby separating the solid particles, and the solid remains on the filter cloth or filter plate to form a dehydrated solid filter cake, while the liquid is discharged through the filter equipment.

Filter presses are widely used in various industries and processes to process various liquid-solid mixtures, such as wastewater treatment, chemical production, food processing, pharmaceuticals, mining and metallurgy, etc. By using a filter press, liquid and solid can be effectively separated to obtain dry solid matter and relatively clean liquid, thereby meeting the production and environmental protection needs of different industries.
