The cuttings dryer is a vertical scraper discharge drying centrifuge, which is composed of a drum, a filter medium, a scraper and the main body of the centrifuge. The drum is a cylindrical container with many small holes on the outer surface, and the inner surface is covered with filter media. The drum can rotate around its axis.
The cuttings dryer is a continuous working device, the suspension is continuously input into the drum, and with the rotation of the drum, the solid and liquid in the suspension are separated.
When the drum rotates at high speed, the suspension rotates with it. Due to the centrifugal force generated by the rotation, the solid particles in the suspension are forced to move along the drum wall by the outward centrifugal force. Centrifugal force can reach hundreds of times that of gravity, which intensifies the filtration process.
The filter medium covered on the drum wall acts as a filter.
